GPS/ GNSS systems can suffer when satellite cover is affected by tall buildings, trees and other obstructions. This would lead to inconsistent (if any) data capture.
OXTS products solve these problems as they don't rely on just one measurement principle. By combining inertial and GNSS, positional and attittude data can be output at up to 250Hz, even in GNSS blackout.

We specialise in non-contact technologies including dopplermicrowaveoptical and laser which increase accuracy and reliability of measurements required in diverse aspects of rolling stock and infrastructure engineering.

These include;-

Vehicle Dynamics measurement quantifies speed, position, roll, pitch, yaw, ride, & etc of all types of rolling stock.

Track mapping. Vehicle mounted, high accuracy, inertial navigation systems (INS + GPS) give a true and accurate track mapping facility.

These are just some of the applications of our measurement technologies for the railway industry.
The RT series is our most powerful and accurate range of GNSS-aided inertial navigation systems. RT sensors have been widely used and trusted for many years by the automotive industry to measure vehicle dynamics. But their ability to accurately measure position, velocity, acceleration, angular rate and slip angle without drop-out is only part of what makes them so successful.
With CAN input and output, displaced outputs, multiple slip-angle measurements and the ability to output real-time data to 2 cm RTK accuracy when used with a base-station, they allow users to collect and handle measurements in a highly flexible way. Additionally, they are also able to deliver RTK-quality velocity measurements of up to 2 cm/s without a base-station.
Each RT is supplied as standard with a comprehensive suite of software allowing the manipulation, plotting and export of data.
